Week 29: Acts 15:22-35

  1. As a group, summarize Acts 15:22-35.

  2. What stood out to you from the text?

  3. What necessitated the council of Acts 15? (Verse 1 of chapter 15).

  4. Why was this such a crucial question and council?

  5. Our “additional” to the gospel is different from that of Acts 15. Yet, today many are prone to see human activity as necessary to salvation. Why is this so dangerous and how do we counter it in our own lives and the lives of others?

  6. Consider the fact that before they dealt with non-essentials they made sure to get the essentials correct. Why can’t unity and fellowship be the primary goal of the church? Why must we make sure that our unity is around the right things?

  7. By and large, do you feel as though people are willing to concede personal freedoms in Christ for the sake of not offending a brother and sister in Christ? Why or why not?

  8. Have someone read Philippians 2:3-4. Discuss among your group what practical examples of that might look like at Dayspring?
